About Sights – Borjomi Museum of Local History
The Borjomi Museum of Local History (Georgian: ბორჯომის მხარეთმცოდნეობის მუზეუმი) in the resort town of Borjomi (Georgian: ბორჯომი) in Samtskhe-Javakheti region is housed in the building initially designed as the chancellery of the Imperial House of the Romanovs. Pseudo-Gothic in style, it was built in 1890 by the German architect-designer V. Shveier.
The museum is one of the oldest in Georgia. It was opened in 1926 has a collection of 36,000 items, including archaeological finds from the Borjomi area, china and glass from the Romanov palace, displays of the first bottles and labels relating to the famous Borjomi mineral waters, and samples of the flora and fauna of the Borjomi gorge.

Opening times: The museum is open every day from 10.00 till 17.00 except Mondays.
