About Sights – Tbilisi Zoo
Tbilisi Zoo (Georgian: თბილისის ზოოპარკი) was established in February 1927 and contains a collection of animals from the Caucasus Region, together with exotic species from around the world. Its mission is to protect and conserve animals and promote best practice through educational programs and research.
Over 300 different types of animals live at the zoo, including rhinoceros, white tigers, bears, elephants and lions.
Three white tiger cubs were born at the zoo in March 2013.
The zoo has an amusement park with rides and stalls.
How to get there? Zoo address: #64 M. Kostava str. Tbilisi. Buses that pass through Heroes Square will stop at Tbilisi zoo. The nearest Metro station is Technical University. In Summer the zoo is open every day (including holidays) between the hours of 9 am to 9 pm. and in Winter from 10 am till 6 pm.
How much does it cost? Adults 2 GEL. Children over 3 years – 1 GEL.
