Didn’t Georgia used to be part of the Soviet Union? Yes, it declared independence on April 9, 1991. It is now a democratic republic, with the President as the head of state, and Prime Minister as the head of government.

The current President is Mikheil Saakashvili, seen here meeting U.S. President Obama.

Mikheil Saakashvili has worked tirelessly to reform and modernise Georgia.

Who are we? We live and work here in Georgia and think it is a country of amazing diversity, hospitality and opportunity!
